WINTER A WINTERS TALK Handel's “Messiah” topped the season off musically with the combined efforts of the Singers and First Baptist Choir rendering the annual performance. SILHOUETTED TREES . . . FURS . . . BASKETBALL AND SELVY . . . ALL SIGNS OF WINTER A few of the lucky girls drag out furs, and, thus, usher in winter . . . hare tree limbs silhouetted against gray skies .. . basketball came into the picture . . . mid-semester reports were pondered ... I solemnly promise to study an hour each day on each subject” ... the Furman float and band in the annual Christmas parade . . . students would soon leave for the holidays with visions of giving and receiving frat pins and rings . . . saving their gifts for later—the faculty pestered the home-hungry students with petty tests ... and movie attendance soared ... frost-covered benches . . . stalled autos . . . tournament in Oklahoma, the Paladins gave Oklahoma U. a great battle ... a look at Selvy as he proved his All-American ability . . . the Bonhomie staff worked diligently to beat the deadline . . . the concert drew students from closed study... caroling was heard everywhere. Hanging of the Greens was revived . . . Old English custom prevailed ... eating with hands proved a problem for few . . . all the girls attired in vari-colored costumes . . . one mistake: the men couldn’t witness it . . . the girls burst from the dining hall with branches of mistletoe over their heads . . . nippy weather. GROUP SINGS AGAINST CHRISTMAS BACKGROUND

He is pounded on the hack; his hand is mashed beyond repair by over-fricndlv pin-wearers ... brothers meet late into the night examining each rushee like a prize race horse . . . after a cpiiet period, the anxious freshmen and transfers assemble at the Dean’s office to check bids. It’s a great feeling when he’s told that he made the grade—a greater feeling when he’s greeted at the house—HIS house. Then, a shining pledge pin and a new life. Kush Week ended, all fraternities became friends again, all strife ceased, enter brotherly love. DEAN BONNER WARNS MEN TO BE SURE OF THE B1C STEP THAT THEY ARE TAKING
