SHINING PIN ... A NEW LIFE Rush Week is the week when freshmen are treated like kings. Each fraternity carefully selects a few to be entertained royally by his clan. Parties are scheduled every day by each fraternity. A closed night is enjoyed in some secluded spot by many rush girls and un$us- TKE WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS TO THE HOUSE NERVOUS MEN RECEIVE BIDS AT POST OFFICE THETA CHI CLOSED NIGHT

AVI I AT IT WAS, WAS FOOTBALL BLAZING SPIRIT . . . WELCOME ALUMNI ... BIG PARADE ... LEAPORD REIGNS ... THRILLING HOMECOMING . . . DECORATIONS . . . FLOATS . . . QUITE A DAY School spirit blazed anew the night before homecoming . . . the annual snake through main street stirred up enthusiasm of all of us . . . after a stirring pep session, people hurried to secluded buildings housing their floats . . . work, effort, work, ideas, work ... to bed before three ... up by six to finish . . . lining up of the floats . . . parade over which Mildred Leopard, queen of the occasion, reigned graciously . . . the day students copped first place in floats . . . Singers came through with second . . . all the fraternity houses rang with “Beat Davidson' . . . the alumni back at the old stomping grounds . . . football decorations and splendor excited everyone . . . after the parade, floats were martyred and all headed to Sirrine . . . rush Greenville traffic made some fans late . . . drop-ins were scheduled by all groups . . . the queen was crowned . . . sponsors for football seniors introduced . . . old friends met at the stadium . . . homecoming was a joyous occasion for all . . . we won the game ... it was over . . . that night came the big affair sponsored by the alumni at Gallivan’s Hall . . . intermission parties . . . what a day! He is pounded on the hack; his hand is mashed beyond repair by over-fricndlv pin-wearers ... brothers meet late into the night examining each rushee like a prize race horse . . . after a cpiiet period, the anxious freshmen and transfers assemble at the Dean’s office to check bids. It’s a great feeling when he’s told that he made the grade—a greater feeling when he’s greeted at the house—HIS house. Then, a shining pledge pin and a new life.
