o r i a m Dr. Charles Leonard Pittman September 11, 1903-March 20, 1951 In the course of a student’s collese experience, there is always one professor whose inspiration and personal interest go above and beyond the call of duty. For such a person, teaching is more than a profession; it is a Divine calling. Dr. Charles L. Pittman gave to his students more than a knowledge of the literature he taught; he gave them a philosophy of life. From the sometimes obscure world of philosophy he gleaned simple ideals of truth, which he imparted to his students, whom he was ever eager to guide in the development of their own standards. More than for any other attribute Dr. Pittman will be loved and remembered for his unfaltering faith in the individual student; His little, nameless, unremembered, acts of kindness and of love . n
