Vocotionol Agriculture All boys interested in Vocational Agri¬ culture are even more interested in it this year because of the new building. The boys are very proud of their build¬ ing, and are taking care of it very well. The boys learn the principles and appli¬ cations of farm mechanics, and rural leadership through class instruction and demonstrations. The boys also gain much experience through their F.F.A. activities. Two years are required for the course. Second year boys learn the correct way to care for shrubbery. Senior boys transplant a shrub in the front of their new building. Mr. Hunt lectures in the classroom. Practice teachers demonstrate the wood-cutting machine. 15

Vocational Home Economics A high school girl’s dream of becoming a homemaker will soon be a reality, so among our school’s most functional courses is home economics. This year the girls have brand new facilities in which to learn the arts of sewing, practical eti¬ quette, interior decoration, personal groom¬ ing, and of course cooking. Girls take Vocational Home Economics in their freshman and sophomore years. Two years must be taken in order to receive credit for the course The new display case is admired by Grace Yancey and Jane Trull. Mrs. Famell often lectures to her classes. Linda Honeycutt and Martha Burt learn the arts of decorating. 14

Oh, listen to those bones crack! Ninth grade girls and boys leam calisthenics in Physi¬ cal Education. They play in the gym and outdoors. Through these activities they learn to work and play together. In the classroom these students learn health. The body, its organs and their functions, the blood and its circulation, are just a few of the subjects studied by them. Health and Physical Education The results of physical fitness are demonstrated. Mrs. Medlin explains the importance of the heart in blood circulation. Jumping rope this way proves strenuous exercise! 16
