Foreign Languages Larry Coats increases his Latin vocabulary. The language lab aids students in the study of foreign language. By studying the language of other coun¬ tries, we not only learn how to communi¬ cate with the people, but we also learn much about them. We study about their customs, their laws, and government, their dress, and their religious beliefs. At Fu- quay, a student may take either two years of Latin or two years of French. French students gain a knowledge of the defects in their speech through the language lab¬ oratory. Don McCauley and Joan Ashworth ask, “Qui est-ce?” French II students “chantent en francais.” 12
