vwyp y} y yv?W (£ 01 ”W 2, 9561 VL t I I 'Dedication She has taught, guided and encouraged students at Fulton High School for many years. She has served not only as teacher in the field of social studies but has been class and club sponsor as well as guidance director. Many classes have worked under her leadership. She helped organize the International club and the local chapter of Future Teachers of Amer- ica which she continues to sponsor. As guidance director she has come in touch and worked with every student in school. Students have found her mentally alert and ever eager to lead them to make the most of their abilities. She has been firm, at times, but has always been kind and has ever had the best interests of the students in the forefront. She not only has been but continues to be a vital part of Fulton High School life. Therefore, the staff takes pleasure in dedicating this, the 1956 Vespa to Miss Shirley Dunavant. The year of 1955-56 has been a full one at the Fulton High School. Familiar faces—sports—good sportsmanship—pride for those who excel— club activities—dances—assemblies—pep club trips—administration—labora- tory explosions—heated debates—public speaking—band—carolling—wonder- ful spirit—appreciation of teachers—gratitude to advertisers—curricular ac- tivities—serious moments of concentration—as—NHS Assembly,— I Speak for Democracy” Contest—Commencement—have all been a part of it. In brief, the story of the year is reviewed for your enjoyment in this cross section which the Vespa staff is happy to present as its version of— This Is Your Life.” 2WW SctucatcMi Julian Kaiser. The newspaper and annual serve as an important link between the school and com- munity for they attempt to give a picture of high school activities as they arc. They also give students a chance to write and learn something about publishing. HI-LIFE STAFF VESPA STAFF Co-Editors ....... Business Manager Advertising ...... Circulation ...... Features ......... Its work consists of debating, oratory, extempore, declamations and panel discussions. The chapter sponsored a debate tournament at F.H.S. and entered a number in other towns. Debating attracted a number of freshmen so the club has the largest number of active debaters it has had. Fulton debating team won the district contest.
