The romance of France, most eloquently depicted in her own language, is fostered by the endeavors of the French Club in its study of the various provinces within the country. These provinces provide contrast and variation in the climate, dress, and customs. The Constitution of the club is drawn up in French and that language is spoken at all meetings. The club meets once every six weeks and hears reports, secs pictures and posters, and plays games pertaining to the province under consideration at that time. During the Christmas program carols were sung in French and the Christmas customs of France were studied. The International Relations Club was organized in 1945 and is now the largest club in Fulton High. Its main purpose is to enable members to study international problems so that they may become better informed on problems confronting people in other parts of the world. The outstanding project of the year was to hold a Mock United Nations Assembly on March 27, in thA auditorium. Students from Hickman, Mexico, Moberly, University Laboratory, and Fulton participated in the event. Delegates from each school assumed that they were representing their respective country at the UN. Each group tried to present the cause and argue their case as they felt the delegates from that country would have done. Each school had six delegates and these represented two member nations. The topics that were discussed were - “The Korean War” and “The Independence of the North African Countries.” SPONSORED BY -- DUNAVANT DRUG MATTINGLY BROS.
