You will recall that one day in September, 1939, forty-nine green Preshmen eagerly hurried back to school only to find themselves loaded down with books and lessons. Boon after we assembled and had a class meeting. le elected Lillian Diet- rich as President: Donna Todd, Vice President: Loretta lclillisms, Secretary: and Alice Busted, Treasurer. Por our class advisor we chose lr. lcDonald. Soon after we were initiated by our betters, the Sophomores, and had to en- tertain them by doing stunts, walking to Perrinton, and other things which they thought would fit us better for the forthcoming years. During this year we had wiener roasts, skating parties, and other parties. By the end of the y ar me had lost some from our number but others came to fill their places. It as not long before we were let out for our summer vacation which, I think, the teachers needed worse than we. The next fall we returned to school with fiftysthree members. At our first class meeting we chose the folloling to be our representatives: President, Bes- sie Parfitti Vice President, Joyce Miller: Secretary and Treasurer, Loretta Mc- Williams: and class advisor, lr. Oliver. Immediately after this we initiated the Freshmen, keeping in mind the init- iation we had received. Throughout this year we had various parties. le sold candy, Christmas cards, and put on the play, 'The Black Derby, in April. The next year I6 came back as Juniors, but our class had decreased to only forty-three. Not long after receiving our latin, English, Ag, History, and oth- er books, we had a class meeting and elected Jack Domke, as our President: Clo- yce Kochensparger, Vice President: Helen Baker, Secretary: John First, Treasur- er: and lr. Kn ght, our Advisor. In the middle of the year lr. Knight left us to take up a new position, but you willingly filled his place to our great sat- lsfactlon. le received our class rings in December and thought they were the best ones ever. le put on the play, 'Coverells,' in April and showed our liking for the Seniors by entertaining them with the Junior-Senior Dinner Dance ln May. Ihen arriving at school last fall, we found that we had lost you, our Su- perintendent, to the Army, and that lr. loodford had taken your place. At our first class meeting se elected Calvin Space as President, Ruth Wood as Vice- Presldent, Donna Payne ss Secretary, and Robert Dodge as Treasurer. We chose Mr. Paine and Hrs. Wyatt for our class advisors. le ave had few parties this year on account time trying to make this, our lest year, the b play, M'l1ss,' the last of April and were ents Junior-Senior Prom May seventh. le have forty-three in our class and are the of the war but eve spent est one of all. le put on rtained by the Juniors at first to have gone through four grades of the high school since the school has been consolidated. our the the all This closes our High School life of '43.
