Ukizfiiviewefe FRESHMAN BASKETBALL The Frosh of 58-59 put forth one of the 'best teams the lower classmen at Fulton have known. So Fulton went out and towed in a pep club The Fulton Stems ers to you What could be more appropriate for all these Dutchmen than a Mayflower straight from the Zuider Zee? Our f1PSt pep meeting inspired our nFlying Dutchmen to go out and bring back our first vic tory of the season We yelled ourselves hoarse in the gym and wore out our wooden shoes snake danc 'ng all over town A similar pep meetlng and snake dance was staged the night before we played Morrison That night we burned an effigy of Morr ison The next night they burned us at the game The last pep meeting was something to remem ber A thrilling horse race between Moline and Fulton was hold and the dark horse, Fulton, came out ahead A group of alumni Dutchmen acted judges and provided a background for the meeting The first ten of our Holland boys, along with the manager and coach, were presented wlth roses They should have been tullps The pep club conslsted of twenty five stu dents who wore their Steamer emblems and plns and supported the team at the games, The four cheep leaders,Jackie Leslie,Jim Field,Lyle Hoogheem, and Helen Field, led the pep club and student body in their chocring It 1S to them that go the honors for our successful pep meetlng W NWFE 24 ya-avffgfff my
