We sincerely hope that this picture of the year of 1946 and its activities will bring many pleasant memories to your mind and that you wil always remember what Fulton stands for and has stood for in the past. These few pages will show the spirit of the school, but nothing will ever be able to show how real is our love for Fulton, the teachers and our fellow students. Confenfri Theme . . . Dedication . . ANDERSON, JR. Died March 26, 1946 Mrs. Anderson taught at Fulton High School only a few weeks before she was taken ill. Dur- ing that time she endeared herself to the faculty and students as a wide-awake sympathetic teacher and as a lady of culture and charm. S l 7 n emoriam BOB DICKERSON Became janitor of Fulton High School, 1917 . . . Died june 24, 1945 Fulton High, the faculty, and the students who knew him will always have a warm place in their hearts for Bob. Bob was Fulton's ianitor, and was not just an ordinary person, but a part of Fulton itself. He had been at Fulton for over twenty-seven years, when during the summer, he was called to go Home. ' Bob's humor and his chuckle were prized by Fulton's students. It was Bob whom the returning students always wanted to see Hrst. Bob had unusual ability and was really an executive in dealing with his helpers and with the many tasks that fell upon him. He never failed to answer a call for assistance and many times he spent the night alone in the building in order to keep it warm for us in sub-freezing weather. Bob was always kind and had a friendly word for everyone. In every way he could, he was always striving to make Fulton a better school and Fulton High and all she stands for will always be grateful to him. One of the principals under whom Bob served, said at his funeral, No student nor teacher of Fulton High School has made a greater contribution to Fulton than has Bob. Words are really inadequate to express our feelings over the loss of such a friend. We merely lift our heads and say, We miss you, Bob. 8 we Kafdbna A harbinger of spring is he, This crested bird that sings with glee. He sits on a limb so high above And sings to his mate a song of love. Twittering, they work to build their nest, Each for the other doing his best. With twigs and straw and many a feather, Side by side they work together. As they dream of their young, little know they the joy Their song will inspire in each girl and boy Who copy their virtues with great expectation Of making a greater and better nation. As Fulton,s symbol, this bird is the head Of each activity . . . with its coat of red: The football team and paper the same, Each sharing renown from the cardinafs name. Working at Fulton year by year, Seeking those virtues she holds so dear, Dreaming like the bird what the future may bring, We work together in everything. Our students at Fulton hear the call Of the cardinal, challenging one and all. When we see him floating against the sky, We breathe a prayer for Fulton High. ANSWER YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS 1. Do you drink because you can't leave it alone? 2. Do you try to stoy but only so so far? 3. Do you make promises and try to keep them but cannot? 4. Does alcohol relieve you when extremely nervous? 5. Do you resent your family and friends trying to help? 6. Do you feel that there is something wrong but can't explain why you keep on drinking? 7. Does the night before leave you very nervous next day? 8. Do you find it harder to stop drinking each time you quit and start drinking again? 9. Is drinking affecting your home and business but you won't admit it? 10. Does one drink call for another until you humiliate your family and friends by being irresponsible? 11. Do you experience mental haziness and lack of concentration after a debauch? 12. Do you begin to get nervous and irritable when you have gone a certain length of time without drinking, but get relief soon after you have had several drinks? 13. Do you know in your own mind that you are slipping? 14. Has drinking passed the playful stage with you? If any seven of the fourteen questions above apply to you personally, you are a potential alcoholic-it is time to stop now for good, as continued use of alcohol can, only lead to in- creased suffering. In from seven to ten days' treatment, at the White Cross Hospital, every one of the above symptoms is completely removed, with no further desire or craving for alcohol in any form. The White Cross treatment has gained the Interest, Respect and Good Will of leading business and professional men and women in Atlanta and throughout the South.
