Lost There was great optimism in the air as a record number of players began practice. This feeling was quickly put to rest as the first few games left the young Pilots in defeat. A number of factors contributed to the losing season, but most important was inexperience. Injuries also hurt the Pilots as more and more players were sidelined. The Pilots won 17 games, most in the school’s history while losing only 5. The Pilots played Carlisle County and Hickman County and defeated them 28-9 and 11-5 respectively. The Pilots then went to the Regionals at Murray State and finished their season with an 11-4 loss to Paducah Tilghman. Most Valuable Player on last year’s team was Robert Dunn who was featured on the WPSD-TV People Beat.
