LIFE ... A RIVER OF EMOTION. Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away. Although this may not have been the most successful season, we give great honors to those seniors in their last year. Hilton Hickerson Ricky Parnell Larry Powell ■ njL’i — .1 Terry Reeves To the Seniors of ’76, this you must remember- Tomorrow, there is a lot more to do ... and failure waits for those who stay with the success that they believe was conquered that other day. Tomorrow, ... Yes, tomorrow; you’ll need to try harder than ever before, to gain what you are looking for in life. Coach Steve Wendelboe Doyle Thompson Glen Walker 47 The Man of the Hour Oct. 24, 1975 Since the beginning of the Fulton County football program in 1963, Royce Dyer has been an avid supporter of our teams. He has worked long hours in assisting both the Junior High and High School Programs. But more than just work, Royce has supported and built spirit in the teams year after year. He has been both the Football work horse” and spark plug” for the Pilots. MR. The Lady Pilots’ 1975-1976 season was a failure but yet a success. The Lady Pilots failed to win as many games as they did in the past year, but they showed that they were still the second best team in the first district. The Lady Pilots lost their first game in regional tournaments just as they did in the past year. This is to have succeeded.” RALPH WALDO EMERSON itinTr We are as books without words useless ... empty ... And yet searching for something. Then we find it... PEOPLE! Some become special, the chosen few, who become a part of us. We call them friends. Friends are for sharing of lockers and lunches, but most of all, Experiences. Friends come in couples, groups and congregations. And when friends meet some- thing always happens, whether we’re planning, rejoicing or feeling defeat. But that’s what we’re here for—to learn to face the disappointments, and of course welcome the victories. And when we look at our lives, the past seems foolish, the present barely tolerable. But, the future holds the reality of all our hopes and dreams. 1976 SENIORS Lynda Alexander Debe Cartwright Teresa Craddock Betty Austin Charles Cheirs Mary Lisa Forsythe 67 1976 SENIORS Kathy Hill Faulkner Logan Glidewell Billy Jones Dennis Gibson Hilton Hickerson Regenia Jones Saddie Gilbert Bobby Hill Sherrie King 68 1976 SENIORS Connell Kinney Terry Lane Blane Malone Randy McClure Christy Lattus Angie Lawson Valerie McCauley Gerald Mamey Ronald Mayberry 69 1976 SENIORS Lisa Morrow Ronnie Parker Ricky Parnell John Lynn Newton Penny Parnell Tim Perry 1976 SENIORS Krystal Pierson Terry Robinson Frieda Simmons Larry Powell Alfred Shannon John Sowell 71 1976 SENIORS Glen Walker Debbera Swallows Jack Spencer Raymond Weatherly Doyle Thompson Sherry Welch Andy Swallows Sheila Townsend Marissa Whitsey 72 1976 SENIORS 73 Brent Williams Steve Williams Loretha Winters Shelia Williams Calvin Wilson Denise Wiseman Howard Wilson Rolinda Wiseman Ricky Wray SENIOR DIRECTORY LYNDA ALEXANDER Afro Studies 1-2; History Club 2; FFA 3-4; Band 3-4; officer in band 4; Miss FCH8 Contestant 3-4. As I begin to walk, I look at my familiar surroundings, I call to mind the seasons past. The clock on the wall is silent now; yet for four years it has guided my footsteps as an alarm that demanded a response, a voice that required obedience. I catch a glimpse of a tattered sign still hanging; one of the countless banners that our cheerleaders created. Now it is simply a forgotten relic of some ballgame. In a dark corner lies a discarded pen, victim of a thousand themes and essays; bearing the scars of deep thought; marred by the teeth marks of the nervous young essayist. Engraved on these desks somewhere are the memories of broken hearts. Here love has been discovered and lost; such as the growing pains of countless teenage lives. I turn about and retrace my footsteps. I ponder all the things in my heart and turn them over and over in my mind. Suddenly, I find myself standing where I had begun this sentimental journey. I take a last look at what has been part of me for so long. I exit through the large front door and as the door clicks shut I hear the echo of voices that I shall never hear again. I walk down the grey cement sidewalk leading away from these historic portals. I turn and look at the entirety of the outline pressed against a faintly lit sky, smiling proudly in knowing that I have been part of, and have just graduated from Fulton County High School. I bow my head; I weep. 76’ JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM The prom this year was a great success with a great band, ’The Most Valuable Players, from Nashville, Tenn. We danced in style at the National Guard Armory in Hickman, AIN v ' STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN There’s a lady who sure all that Glitters is gold. And she’s buying a stairway to heaven. And when she gets there she knows If the stores are closed, With a word she can get what she came for. There’s a sign on the wall But she wants to be sure. Cause you know sometimes words have Two meanings. In a tree by the brook there’s a songbird Who sings sometimes. All of our thoughts are misgiven. There’s a feeling I get when I look To the west. And my spirit is crying for leaving. In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees. And the voices of those who stand looking. And it’s whispered that soon if we all call the tune. Then the piper will lead us to reason. And a new day will dawn for those Who stand long. And the forests will echo with laughter. And it makes me wonder. If there's a bustle in your hedgerow Don’t be alarmed now. It’s just a spring clean for the May-Queen. Yes there are two paths you can go by. But in the long run. There's still time to change the road your on. Your head is humming and it won’t go-in case you don’t know. The pipers calling you to join him Dear lady can you hear the wind blow. And did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.
