Clan -Hi tony It was the year of 1955 when three ships started their voyages to the Land of Great Wisdom. On the ship anchored at Western, nine beautiful and charming young ladies and thirteen bold and dashing young gentlemen stepped aboard. At Hickman, where another ship was anchored, twenty-three ladies and seventeen gentlemen of the same lovely description also boarded their ship. The third ship was privileged to have eight beautiful and charming young ladies and eleven bold and dashing young men. The Captains informed everyone that the Voyage of High School Life was in reality to be over four seas, though the four bodies of water were so closely joined together that they seemed but one immense sea. The three ships' passengers were in- formed that they would first enter the smallest of these, which was called the Freshman Sea. It was really an experience to travel on this great sea. Being the first sea every- one had been across, they all were what you might call green . There were natu- rallyafew cases of seasickness, and various ones were tempted to throw up Algebra, Geometry, and other disagreeble dishes and toss some of their best belongings over- board in times of rough sea, but the Stewardess assured them calmly, but firmly, that they would only have to consume these indigestibles over and over until they were perfectly assimilated, and so they bravely managed to hold them down. As everyone started over the Sophomore Sea, the people who had boarded at Western joined the ship which had been docked at Hickman. So now there were only two ships. Everyone was more accustomed to ship life now and were more silly than before. For the Junior Sea, it was decided that all three ships would be combined. The ship which had docked at Cayce joined with the ones who had docked at Hickman and Western. Oh! What a jolly time everyone had crossing this sea. But, can you imagine what a wreck this ship was after crossing this last sea?! Before entering the Senior Sea, everyone moved into a brand new modern ship. Everyone acted pretty dignified in this new ship, but what a time they had. Now we look at the larger, more majestic ocean ahead and feel that our ex- perience has fitted us to withstand every storm, and weather any opposing force with no fear of disaster. We will go on writing new logs of greater adventure, and yet more wonderful discovery, for while the Voyage of High School Life is at an end, the Voyage of Rea1 Life is just now and here at its triumphant Commencement! 28
