Class History In September, 1948, eight of our nineteen Seniors started the first step of their education at Fulton Local School. The original eight were Larry Roberts, Rachel McQuillin, John Laver, John Jageilski, Richard Halpin, Jerry Hoffman, Jerry Enyart, and Karen Leininger. Mrs. Glecker was our first teacher and taught us to share and the principles of fair play as well as our ABC's and 123's. Mrs. Glecker was also our second grade teacher, and prepared us for our third step. Now in the third grade, Mrs. Kessler was our teacher. Here Cecelia Carter joined us from Swanton. Mrs. Kessler also taught us in the fourth grade. Barbara Arps from Richland Adams in Defiance, and John Pupos from Metamora joined us this year. Mrs. Fetterman taught us in the fifth and sixth grades. We really felt grown-up this year because our room was upstairs. Danny Gillen from Swanton joined us in the fifth grade. Finally we made it to the seventh grade and Junior High School. Mr. Shaver was our teacher. We were very excited and yet confused because we had lockers in the hall and changed classes. Mike Ruff- ner came to us from Adrian. Jim Foster joined the class this year also. Class officers this year were: Jerry Enyart, President: John Pupos, Vice President: Barbara Arps, Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Shaver continued as our class advisor for the eighth grade. This year our officers were: John Laver, President: John Pupos, Vice President; Larry Roberts, Secretary-Treasurer. In both seventh and eighth grades we took field trips to Oak-Openings Park. In our Freshman year we had Mrs. Craig as our advisor. This year we were entitled to class parties and money raising projects, because we were in high school. Elaine Miller from St. Mary's Assumption came to us this year. Our class officers this year were: Jerry Enyart, President: Barbara Arps, Vice Pres- ident; Elaine Miller, Secretary-Treasurer. Miss Boehm was our Sophomore advisor. Delpha Barnes and Sandra Emahiser joined us from Swan- ton. Our class officers this year were: Danny Gillen, President; John Pupos, Vice President; Carolyn Slagle, Secretary; Elaine Miller, Treasurer. Our Junior class was headed by Jerry Enyart as President; Danny Gillen served as Vice President; Carolyn Slagle as Secretary; Elaine Miller as Treasurer. This was a particularly exciting and busy year. Early in September we received our class rings. Our biggest projects this year were the Junior-Senior Prom we called Cinderella's Ball and our class play called Arsenic and Old Lace in November. Mr. Walter was our class advisor. Our last year at Fulton Local is about over. The first thing we did was have our Senior pictures taken. All through the year we have saved money for our trip to Washington and New York May 15. Our class play Rest Assured was presented April 8. Mr. Walter was our advisor and our class officers for our last year were Jerry Enyart, President; Mike Ruffner, Vice President; Barbara Arps, Secretary: and Elaine Miller, Treasurer. Edna Snyder joined us from St. Frances at Tiffin and made us a graduat- ing class of nineteen. The Fultonian, ably edited by John Pupos, purse strings were held by John Win- field Laver and yours truly at the typewriter. Cecelia Carter
