CLASS HISTORY On a fall morning in 1947, twenty-one anxious children entered Fulton School, to begin their first step up the ladder of knowledge. Betty Schwyn, Sam Everett, Alvin Johnson, Larry Smith, Joe Vasko, Christine Putman, Donald Rashley, Anne Owens, and Dale Fetterman were among the class of 1959 who met their first grade teacher, Miss Tietz, that morning, and who have been with us all twelve years. Our second grade teacher was Miss Gleckler, and that year Sharon Strayer entered our class from Thompson School. Mrs. Kessler patiently guided us through the third and fourth grades, and Mrs. Fetterman was our teacher in the fifth and sixth grades. They helped prepare us for the seventh step--- Junior high! We thought we were some stuff, when we were given lockers and could change classes. Mr. Shaver was our advisor in the seventh and eighth grades, and he also taught many of our subjects. Along with junior high came many new experiences and activities. We all enjoyed participating in different sports and were very proud of our winning basketball team during those years. The years were fleeing rapidly, and before we realized it we had reached the ninth step. We were restless, giggley freshmen. Three more students joined our class that year. Larry Marsh came to us from Delta, Jerry Pfund from Monclova, and Margaret Taft from Swanton. Anne Owens was elected president and Mrs. Craig was our advisor. At the beginning of our sophomore year, we elected Dale Fetterman as our president and Mr. Miller was our advisor. Bib Fickle came to us from Lyons our junior year. Sam Everett was chosen as our pres- ident and Mr. Walter was our advisor, who kept us busy working on money making projects, and preparing for our Junior-Senior Banquet which we called Oriental Gardens. Mrs. Hay- den, and Miss Boehm were the directors of our play, Spooky Tavern. At last we have reached the top of the ladder, our senior year. This year we welcomed one more new member to our class. Bob Leach from Pettisville. Because Sam Everett had proved such an able leader, we did not hesitate to elect him president again. This has been our busiest year. We have worked hard on the many activities which come with being seniors, and working together, we have had many memorable experiences. We have agreed and disagreed, but we know that when we are gone we will cherish these memories. We have crossed the bay, the ocean lies before us. ” Though we leave and each of us goes his separate way, we are all looking forward to a bright, happy future.
