SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY As I reclined in my easy chair one warm evening several weeks ago, I allowed my mind to become perfectly relaxed and soon pleasant thoughts popped into my head and beautiful pictures appeared before my eyes. What? What was this? No! It couldn t be! It was the year 1969. Whom was I seeing? Where was I? --In France-. I was strolling down La Rue de la Paix when I glanced to my right to see a familiar name, Le Salonde Madem- oiselle Bette Pfund. Instinctively I entered and who should greet me but Betty Pfund of the 1956 graduating class of Fulton Centralized School. She had a flair for design in high school and had been urged to build a dress- making salon m Paris. Her clothes have gained world-wide recognition be- cause they are feminine, elegant and flattering; they play up the woman rather than the dress. After a pleasant vacation in Gay Paree, I winged my way back to the USA by Trans-Atlantic Airways and found my needs were all capably pro- vided for by the attractive stewardess, Sharon Patty. She had graduated from Mercy Hospital and the University of California Los Angeles cum laude. Barbara Owens was the next person I was to encounter. She and her husband, Don Frybarger, were living in New York City. She had been re- cently promoted to the position of head X-Ray Technician at White Cross Hospital. Don was finishing his residency that year and would enter private practice in a suburb of the city near their home. As I made my way toward home I decided to stop over in Philadelphia to visit a nursery school that had nation-wide recognition. As I approached a group of children playing on the grounds, I recognized Edith Eaton as the director of the group. After talking with Edith, I realized that she had ac- complished her life long ambition to become a teacher. Motoring across the country on the new super highways proved to be an interesting experience, especially after I saw a beautiful colonial type motel with a huge sign, The Turret, flashing on and off. I drove in the main drive and a uniformed porter opened the door and escorted me to the main office. I registered and was being shown to my room when a fa- miliar person came toward me with out-stretched hand-Luanne Leininger. She and her husband had built a chain of motels throughout the United States. They were especially popular because of their push button efficiency. The next morning, being reluctant to leave this wonderful hospitality, I pulled away and suddenly out of nowhere came a car crashing into me— I awakened with a start—What a rude way to have these fascinating scenes taken away. I soon realized that it had all been a dream and I was seeing the 1956 graduating class of Fulton Centralized School in their future pro- fessions. Mrs. James Craig Page 15
