JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET The annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held on Saturday, May 15, 1954, in the Fulton School Gymnasium. Upon arrival, each girl was given a corsage of red carnations and each boy a red carnation boutonnierre. The theme for the Banquet was “In a Flower Garden.” The gym was decorated as a rock garden with paths leading around through the garden. In the center was a bird bath and around it was waxed for dancing space. This space was round and resembled a pond. In the garden, there were many different flowers and trellises decorated with lilacs. The tables were decorated with flowers and candles. The ceiling had stars hanging down from a blue sky, in which to complete the setting. The dinner was prepared and served by the Juniors’ Mothers. The menu consisted of: Tomato Juice Swiss Steak Peas and Carrots Mashed Potatoes and Gravy Cole Slaw Butter and Rolls Ice Cream Cherry Pie Coffee After the dinner, Monte Minor was toastmaster for the program. Penelope Burkey welcomed the Seniors and teachers. Beverly Willson gave the response. Dolores Rashley than gave a talk on the Blossoms, after which Laura Huber played a piano solo. Mr. Lash gave a speech entitled “The Point of no Return.” The class will was read by Carolyn Johnson and the Senior class poem was read by Mary Schmitz. Beverly Willson sang a solo and then Alice Elton talked on “The Buds.” Monte Minor, the Junior Class President, crowned the King and Queen —Bob Bratton and Alice Elton. They were presented with gifts by him on behalf of the Junior Class. The coronation took place on a throne under an arch which was decorated with flowers. Mrs. Shaver then gave the Benediction. A dance was held after the program. This page sponsored by: DUMBAR DRILLING AND SUPPLY CO. PEOPLES SAVINGS BANK
