F Y 'Q ,Ana ': .e,.,v4 65' seniors One of the finest senior class plays ever presented was only one of the many compliments the class of '5l has received, not only in connection with this years' top- notch class play Out of the Frying Pan , but also in regard to the Senior Class Assembly, and all other activities this am- bitious class has undertaken. Under the leadership of Randall Egertson, president, and his cabinet, this year has proved to be the best for the members of the class of '5l. The main reason for all this success was the spirit and co-operation among the students. They worked together for the welfare of the class, always striving to attain higher goals during the four years. From that first miserable day in September, T947, to that glorious after- noon of graduation in June, 'l95l, they have planned and studied together. Walter Caplinger, Vice-President Alan Elliott, Treasurer U N juniors Under the leadership of Bill Stephens, pres- ident, the class of T952 has done a won- derful iob in adding to the spirit of friendliness and co-operation which has existed throughout the campus this year. The Junior Talent Show proved to the entire student body that when the iuniors decide to put on an assembly they don't just present a program. They stage a professional show! The high-light of the year, the Junior-Senior Prom, was one of the biggest successes of l95l and will not soon be for- gotten by the iuniors and will remain in the memories of seniors forever, the final and finest prom of their high school career. They have entered into all their activities with a great deal of enthusiasm and school spirit. As proof of this, one recalls the success of the party they gave for the freshmen at the beginning of the year and their active participation in the annual Pow Wow parade and carnival. The sophomore class of i950-51 will long be remembered as one of the finest sophomore classes ever to attend Fullerton Union High School. They were proud to say they had the largest freshmen class in the school's history, 229 girls and 203 boys. The scrubs couldn't have been any greener timber, but gradually they acquainted themselves with all the classes, customs, and hangouts. Talent abounded in the freshman class, consequently they had two wonderful talent shows. The freshmen had a fine representation in sports and other ac- tivities and were noted for good sportsman- ship and pep. Af' Tv? Finals, only then losing a very hard-fought battle to Compton. The splendid coaching of Dick Spaulding and Bud Dawson, plus the great spirit of the team when the chips were down, got the Indians to the Coliseum. It took the Redskins a little time to get started at the beginning of the year but they made a fourth-quarter T.D. to beat Montebello 6-O. In the second game of the season, Whittier was lucky enough to gain a tie with the Indians O-O. Outweighed 27 pounds per man, they lost their next game to the heavy South Pasadena team I9-O. El Monte was the turning point opposition team to start the Braves' winning streak. The Warriors pulled the stops and rolled over El Monte 26-O. Next in the game was supposed to be a toss-up for the title. The Indians clobbered Newport Harbor 33-O for their first league win in the quest of the fourth straight championship. The Indians continued by beating an inspired Ana- heim team I9- I2. Again the whole team was playing a good game, the Braves took the measure of Orange 33- I3. Cinching the title for the fourth straight year was a game which Fullerton dominated from start to finish to roll over Huntington Beach 55-O. Neither could the rain stop the Indians as they scalped their arch- rivals, Santa Ana, I9-6. The first game of the play-offs saw the Indians outfight a very tough San Diego team 20- I 9. In the second game the Indians finally got going, after a slow start, to overrun a sharp Loyola team 4 I- I3. In the final C.l.F. play-off at the Coliseum, the Indians led at the half 7-6, but went down to defeat for the first time in eight games. Fullerton placed five men on the All-Sunset League First Team' Augie Frownfelter, Al Stevens, Don Hudson, Jewel O Elvin Boyd, Ronnie Doss, Doyle D Second Team a fs wens, and Ralph Tallant. uggins, and Duane Pennington made All-Sunset , nd Larry Kraemer honorable mention. Among top honors , Augie Frownfelter and Don Hudson made first team All-C.l.F. with Jewel Owens and Al Stevens named on All-C.l.F. third team. The line did an outstanding fob this year in helping win games although being almost consistently outweighed. Com- mendable leadership of Co-Captain Augie and Steve was another big factor in the Champions' successful I95O-5l season. L . --,v-x-. ..,... .. . .J ... nl.-2 ' ' 8 lan.. oi 'E FIRST ROW: D.
