Even the old underwent construction this year as the hberal arts building (above) was relieved of the old library and converted into classrooms. Arts and crafts are housed on the ground floor and the FJC cosmetology department occupies half the upper story. Sporting a front wall of gloss, the new Student Center dis- plays its proud modern lines. The Christmas Formal and Homecoming dances were held in the SC along with other memorable social events.

Dedicated with a formal dance in September, the new Student Center quickly became the center of campus life at Hornetville. The proud structure with its modern furniture, hi fi sound system, and fireplace was the scene of after-game dances, formals and rallies. The new Deans ' offices and Commission room are also housed in the building. The new student Health Cen- ter was the latest addition to FJC ' s two year old gym. The center handled attendance as well as health this year. More classrooms and additional locker space also enlarged the gym ' s facilities. 12
