a t L Cr a This year marks the close of the teaching careers of three outstanding in- structors at Fullerton Junior College — Mrs. Esther Hatch, Miss Geneva John- son, and Dr. Albert Williams. After giving the greaier part of their lives to Hornetville, they hove decided to leave us . . . and the loss is indeed ours. Miss Johnson (right) came to Fullerton in 1921, after receiving her A.B. from Whittier College and her M.A. from Stanford. At FJC she hos taught for eign languages and has been sponsor of the Spanish Club. Dr. Williams (below) came to Fullerton in 1924, after working two years in the petroleum industry. At Fullerton J.C. he has taught physical sciences, serving as chairman of the department m 1952. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Oklahoma University, and his Ph.D. from the University of California. Mrs. Hatch came to Fullerton in 1927 as an instructor in English, and be- came the first Dean of Women in 1928. She directed 63 major stage pro- ductions, plus countless other shows and programs. In 1938 she organized the Associated Women Students and later was instrumental in establish- ment of the first college social center. Since 1951, Mrs. Hatch has turned more of her time to counseling and the Hornet Y . All three instructors are pillars on which the coll ege was built. They will be missed greatly.
