Class Mist ory It took God to change our motives and our aims in life to bring us from secular work, to¬ gether as a class o f students in the fall of 1955 to study His Holy Word. This is what He did when He brought to F.G.B.I. our class; eight from cities and the rest from the town and rural areas. Of these, fourteen were from Saskatchewan, three from Alberta, four from B.C., two from Manitoba, and one from Ireland. From various walks of life we came, farmers, secretaries, factory workers, lumber¬ jacks, a preacher’s son, a bank clerk, and a contractor. In spite of our various back¬ grounds we had one thing in common — a de¬ sire to study the Bible. During our first year, “Gleaners” was chosen as our class name and Mildred Sauer as our class representative. Of our number, twenty returned for their second year. Wendell Mills joined us, making a class of twenty-one. This term proved to be an eventful one, with new experiences and responsibilities. Mary Kerr was chosen to act as vice-president of the Student Council, and - 1 6 - Mel Hanson was elected as our class repre¬ sentative. The highlight of the year was the wonderful outpouring and moving of the Holy Spirit among the students. During the summer of 57 the ties were strengthened between us by class bulletins, relating our experiences in whatever field of service we were found. It was a disappointment to find four of our number had not returned for their third and final term. However, Hazel Wilken returned for her final year, making us a class of eigh¬ teen. Mel Hanson was chosen as President of the Student Council, our class representa¬ tives being John Abraham and Agnes Hall. It would be impossible to tell all that these three terms at F.G.B.I. have meant in each of our lives, but we stand on God’s Word, “. . . He whic h hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. -Phil. 1:6. Pray for us that spiritually speaking, we will be “Gleaners” by name and by nature. — Full Gospel
