year Book Committees SALES A. E. Sheppard John Abraham Jim Arneson Earl Jellison It has been our privilege to prepare for you an¬ other chapter of the Burning Lamp. As its pages are read it is the prayer of our hearts that not only will it picture life at F.G.B.I. but, because of something found between its covers, many might be encouraged in their Christian walk. We pray, too, that some might find the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, and to others, that it will be an influence to give themselves to a time of study in God ' s Word in preparation for His service. With the conclusion of this chapter of the Burn¬ ing Lamp it is for the Gleaners, the graduating class, the closing of a wonderful chapter in our lives. We trust by God ' s grace it will be the beginning of an even better one for His glory. For the Challengers”, the second year students, it is with the anticipation of a goal in sight, that they look ahead, realizing that through another term they have been challenged over and over again from God ' s Word to be at their best for Him. It has indeed been the beginning, for the Torch- bearers , the first year class, of which we trust will be one of the most important chapters in their lives; one that they might have an increasing desire to complete. Looking back each one of us can say, He hath done great things for us whereof we are glad . I would like to thank each one of the above committees, and all others who have helped, for their faithful and untiring co-operation in our efforts together in preparing this book. God bless you. God has given to man a treasure more valuable than all the silver and gold in the world. Sad to say it is so common that most people do not realize its infinite worth. This unique treasure is God ' s Word, which is known as the Bible. Modernists today have tried to undermine the absolute reliability of God’s Book. Most homes in our country, although they have access to the Book of Books, do not read It. Worst of all professing Christians have lost their hunger for God’s Word. When we examine God’s Book we find that God has revealed to us all of His great mind that we need to know. In it the way of salvation through personal faith in Jesus Christ is revealed. The Christian who reads It will be established in the faith and will be able ROSS REID to live a happy and fruitful life. God’s plan for the world and his many provisions and prom¬ ises which he wants us to have are made known in the Bible. Joshua 1:8 tells us that if we will meditate in God ' s words and live by its precepts, we will be prosperous and have good success. David desired the Word of God more than fine gold, and Job even esteemed it more necessary than natural food. Here at Bible School we have had the privilege of examining this priceless treasure and searching out its unfathomable depths. It has revolutionized our lives and given us a burning desire to make it known to others who haven’t heard. It is also our desire that you, too, may realize God’s plan for your life through His precious Word. ROSS REID. 14 Full Gospel
