'X w Q . W CGEEREHHQX ll History' of the Class of '24 VVe are enthroned at last on the pedestal of Senior glory. Though the fierce struggles have left us breathless on the shore, up, up, Seniors! It is for us to bring credit and fame to our Alma Mater, old F. H. S. Four years of arduous toil have brought us to the top of the ladder, ready for the great battle of life. As Freshmen we entered high school full of hope for the future. In spite of our verdant natures, we displayed a most intelligent aspect to our superiors. Our officers were President, Douglas Roethel,: Vice-president, Verna Christy Secretary, Arthur Vllillg Treasurer, Verona Klementg Annual Representative, William Knilans. VVe made no great showing in our Freshman year, but then-- Great oaks from little acorns grow. In our Sophomore year we adopted a supereilious air. VVe had ad- vanced beyond the pale of ignorance. VVe were quite well represented in school activities by Lucille 'Durant in declamation and Douglas Roethel and Lyle Sund in football. VVe elected as our class officers: President, Ray Leeg Vice-president, Clarence Buendingg Secretary, Arthur VVi1lg Treasurer, Irene Sievertg Annual Representative, Laura VVagner. As Juniors we blossomed out and showed but a slight subservience to the dignified Seniors-so great was our pride. Again we elected the fittest of the class for our officers. They were Ray Lee, l'residentg janet Farnsworth, Treasurer and Annual representative. This year the Freshmen find us positively unapproachable-we have become so austere. Russell Rheincck is our able Presidentg Ray Lee, Vice- presidentg Irene Sievert, Secretary and Treasurer. Ever since we entered High School we have been noted for our exclusive and entertaining social activities. Our prom was in the best order, and our mixers have boasted large crowds who declared that they always had a peach of a time. And this is not the only star in our crown. VVe have promoted a large number from our ranks to forensics. In the field of declamation were: Lucille Durant, Laura VVagner, Lorraine Franzel, Irene Sievert. and Beatrice Neumann. In debate were Irene Sievert, Arthur Kiesling, Emma NVege- man, Wesley Wetzel, and Arnim Luedtke. Other shining comets were our athletes. Doug Roethel, Ike jones, Storky Edwards, Mick Sund, and Arnim Luedtke. Here's a toast for the future. Though we may not all achieve fame, may we ever be as dignified and as scholastic as we are now, and may we be as ambitious for the future as we have been during our whole school career. VIOLET PREUSSE 29
