FN Offffffs' ? Members of the clergy honored guests parents and frlends On behalf of the class of 1959 of Frontler Regional H1gh School I welcome you to our graduatlon Here before you IS a class of graduates aclass composed of 1I1dlVldl13.lS varying in their ways of thmking and reasonlng Each has a goal ln life and each possesses an attitude toward attalnlng it What klnd of attltudes are they and will they help us to cope w1th the problems that wxll confront us? When soclety grows lt so often expects youth to render much to that growth It IS very effectlvely? As young people we are given every opportumty and are encouraged to develop the talents so necessary for leadership Frequently we flaunt these advantages We expect so much and we return so lxttle Why? Are we lazy or have we formed bad hablts 'P Perhaps the problem involves both reasons Habits are certalnly needed m our lives and they can either be benef1c1al or detrxmental depending on what they are and the condltions under which they are formed Too often the average child is coddled and pampered by lov1ng parents who s1ncerely bel1eve they are helping Are the parents really aidlng when they feel the1r child can do no wrong? Several xnstances have occurred ln whxch an anxious parent 1nformed teachers or off1c1a1s 1n other phases of life that Johnny IS never like that at home Soon a ch1ld learns to tell h1s parents every time a problem confronts him He knows they wxll resolve It for him wlthout question and soon he accepts no responsibility When a child reallzes that his parents w1ll protect h1m l ' O true that in time we shall be society's first citizens, but shall we be able to take our places
