Reaching from Modern World History and American Studies into Economics and Sociology, the student is exposed to many cultures besides our own as well as an depth look at the capitalistic system. This year the department has in- troduced Psychology as an elective which endeavors to aid the student in learning more about his own behavior and that of others.

Foreign Language The foreign language department offers Frontier students a great variety of language courses. In ad- dition to a regular sequence in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, and Polish, students can enroll in one semester conversation courses in any of the above languages. Why study a foreign language - it's fun! To enable a student to acquire a sound knowledge of the essentials of both spoken and written language. To help the student attain mastery of the idiom so that he can carry on conver- sations with native speakers. To help the student develop reading skill. To help him improve his ability to learn the meaning of unfamiliar words in context and use them intelligen- tly and correctly. To motivate the student to develop proficiency in writing correctly in order that he may become com- petent enough to continue his education in languages beyond the secondary level. Top L-R: A. Scczesny, M. Costello. 2nd: A. Car- ducci, A Harrington. Goals of the Business Dept. The aims and objectives of the business department are of a general and particular nature. In a genral way we attempt to contribute to the broad education of all pupils by providing ade- quate business and economic information, and to provide vocational competency for qualified and interested pupils. Our goal is to provide these pupils with the skills, understandings and attitudes necessary for success in a business occupation. In a more particular way we attempt to meet the needs of the boys and girls who intend to enter office or store employment immediately after graduation from high school, or who wish to take advantage of further business training in business or technical schools. It is possible for a student to receive vocational training which will enable him or her to achieve com- petence as a secretary, bookkeeper, clerical worker or retail salesman. The business curriculum also offers opportunities for the nonvocational minded student who might be college bound or have other pursuits in mind through the personal use subjects offered.
