Mrs. Lorraine Mr. Walter Horn President Mrs. Dorothy Harrington Eyeman Clerk Mr. Byron Craig Mr. Edgar MPS- Betty Coho Mr. Stanley Vice President Carberry F igiel Mr. Vincent Hynes Murray Plarr Mr. Richard Mr. George My retirement of last january has terminated a career of nearly forty-five years in public xy, education: a most challenging and exciting period in modern history. We were not only confronted with continual change in the social, political, economic and educational aspects of modern life but also with the rapidity with which such change was taking place. We lived through the depression of the thirties and World War II of the forties. This was followed by Sputnik during the fifties with the terrific revival in science and the development of space exploration. Education, especially in a democracy such as ours, reflects all aspects of the society that it serves. During this short period in history, man's knowledge about both himselfand his world has increased many fold. Thus knowledge has remained in a continual state of flux. School offerings have been continually revised, reviewed and revised again. Teaching methods have also been modified to meet the needs of an ever changing world. However today's students have fundamentally changed little during this period. It is true that they are somewhat taller and weigh slightly more. They express themselves differently and at times we have difficulty accepting their dress. These changes can best be described as their reaction to Mr. Benjamin Werth Treasurer their changing environment. Boys and girls have on the whole, always been excellent students most eager to learn and ready for anv challenge. Their loyalty and cooperation has been and continues to be beyond reproach. They have been willing to accept responsibilities and carry out assignments. They are sincere, Eager and God fearing. With few exceptions, they have always been a joy to teachers and other educators alike. They have proven to be the strength of our past as well as the hope for our future. Vernon W. Heiman Former Superintendent 9551! Mr. Vernon W. Heiman FOR ER SUPERI TE DE T
