assistant principal mr. serofino grottanelli there are many definitions and quota- tions concerning time. Perhaps the most famous of all, is that from ecclesiastes, which begins: there is an appointed time for everything, and time for every affair under the heavens- using this pattern of thought, we could say, that academically, there is also an appointed time for everything: a time to begin, and a time to end, a time to work, and a time to play, a time to concentrate, and a time to relax, a time to seek, and a time to lose, a time to speak, and a time to listen, a time to win, and a time to lose, a time to judge, and a time to be iudged, a time to take in, and a time to give out, a time to think, and a time to act, -and so we might continue to para- phrase the thoughts expressed in this famous passage. there is also a time to recognize the responsibilities which each student must assume as he leaves high school and becomes an integral part of the world around him. These include responsibili- ties to his home, to his church, to his country, and to himself. the responsibilities of an adult society are many and complex. The time of preparation between childhood and adult- hood is, for the most part, condensed into these four short years in high school. they may be spent wisely, they may be wasted foolishly. Some will choose to float down the current of these years. others will strike out and swim strongly towards a special goal or destination. The choice is an individual one. there is a time for some things, and time for all things, a time for great things, and a time for small things. whatever we choose, the time is now! principal mr. wilbur morgenfeld
