DISTRICT PRINCIPAL MR. HEIMAN EXTENDING 0NE'S HAND IN FRIENDSHIP Man, to be successful, must not only live with himself but with his fellowmen as well. Thus intercommunication and mutual under- standing is dominating education today. Improved communication leads to greater understanding and increased cooperation not only among the people of a particular community or nation, but also among all nationalities ofthe world. Man's fear of man has, throughout the ages, been an insurmountable obstacle to mutual appreciation and agreement. It has always been the very foundation for revolution and war. Through improved communication we are better able to understand our fellowmeng to appreciate their attitudes and interestsg to comprehend their standards and ideals. We are thus more capable of substituting love for hate and trust for fear. Today we have the resources on every hand. Science is giving us the necessary tools. Likewise education is providing the means for using them. Are we willing to ac- cept the challenge? Uur faculty is dedicated to this very task. It is always ready and willing to give the necessary guidance and assistance. Its hand is being extended. Are we willing to accept it and ready to extend ours to those in need whoever and wherever they might be, so that they too can become our friends and our neighbors.
