Below is an editorial written by Gail Miller which appeared in the Hi-Lites. It reflects the sincere feelings of all of us here at Frontier. Those students fortunate enough to have Mrs. Eyman for senior history realize the great loss Frontier suffered by her death. A more dedicated teacher could not be found. She loved her work and the students she taught and although she made us work harder than most of us were used to, we knew it was for our own good and appre- ciated what she was doing for us. We did not fully realize the meaning of her frequent absences and felt that her January absence was only temporary. When we were told she wouldn't be back for the rest of the year we began to apprehend the graveness of her condition. Even though Mrs. Eyman knew her days were numbered she never hinted or discussed it with anyone. Teaching was her entire life and as much a part of her as her home. She was always happy to have visitors and her first questions- were of school. She had al- ways taken a part in the senior activities of receiving rings, getting measured for caps and gowns and ordering our calling cards and announcements. She missed sharing these activities with us. Our deepest regret is that she could not live to see us graduate as she had hoped. Her greatest concern was preparing her classes for the final exam and even during the early part of her absence she corrected papers until she could no longer hold a pencil. Alumni who have had Mrs. Eyman along with her present students realize the great loss. Those who have known her loved her deeply and will never forget her. She was always willing to help those who needed it, and spent time with those who wanted help beyond classroom assignments. lt is unfortunate that those students who never knew Mrs. Eyman will never have the privilege to benefit from her teaching and brilliant personality. We are certainly grateful for what she has done to serve the school and everyone around her. l 3
