KLEIS, President B0 RD of EDUCATIO For four years, nine members of the Frontier Central Board of Educa- tion have united their efforts to advance the educational facilities of the Frontier Central School district. Two of their dreams arc nearing realiza- tion, and soon the students will have these new i'Frontiers opened to them: the Pinehurst Elementary School and lhe Frontier Junior-Senior High School. The hours which these members have spent in bringing about these new buildings, new courses of study, and new co-curricular activities can- not be counted, but will always be appreciated by every student who has the opportunity to attend these beautiful schools. The Members of the Board have willingly given of their time and effort in an attempt to make Frontier Central the educational stage for all students of the District. ln return, the Staff wishes to assure the members that the students, as players, will put forth their best efforts to exit better citizens than they were at their uentraricev. 0-PBINCIP At the time of the organization of the Frontier Central School system in 1951, Yernon W. lleiman, then principa-l of the Woodlawn School system, was appointed Co-principal of Administration for the new district. He began his teaching in an elementary school in Erie County in 1929 and for the fol- lowing four years taught social science in the Almond High School in Alleghany County. In 1934 he was appointed super- vising principal of the Scio High School and two years later was appointed to a similar position at Vffoodlawn. Mr. Heiman is a native of Erie County, having been born and reared in the township of Clarence, and a graduate of Parker High School, now Clarence Central School. He is a graduate of Alfred University and has completed his gradu- ate studies at Columbia University and the University of Buffalo and is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, a national hon- orary educational fraternity. His membership in many of the professional educational or- ganizations, include the local, county and state teachers and administrators organizations, the National Education Associ- ation, the American Association of the School Administrators and both the New York State and the National Association of School Business Officials. Mr. Heiman has always taken a very active part in the local Boy Scout program and is a member of the local fire depart- ment and the Lions Club. INSTRUCTION CHARLES G. BUESCH ADMINISTRATION VERNON W. HEIMAN Charles C. Buesch is Co-Principal of Instruction and super- vision for Frontier Central Schools. He was appointed to this position when centralization took place in 1951, having served as Supervising Principal of Blastlell High School for I6 years. He taught in schools of Michigan before coming to New York State. A graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, Mr. Buesch has also completed graduate studies at the University of Buffalo and Columbia University. Mr. Buesch holds membership in many professional organi- zations: The American Association of School Administrators, The National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the National Education Association. He also belongs to the New York State Association of Secondary School Principals. Elementary School Principals and Central School Principals as well as local associations. He is past President of the Erie County Teachers Association. Mr. Buesch has been a member of the local Rotary Club since its organization. 7
