Frontenac, Kansas December 28, I969 Gladys Johnson Box 57l Blue Lake, California Dear Gladys: Ernie and I have just returned from the l5th Reunion at the Rainbow Inn of my Senior Class. Ernie is taking the baby sitter home and I thought l'd tell you about the reunion. We had Lois Cleffman's oldest daughter baby sit with the two boys. You know Lois and Pat were married after she graduated and now they have three beautiful daughters. lt was really nice to see all the class again. Dan Blessant was there. He's a great debator in Congress. He alway did debate with Mr. Layden in history. Frank Grilz and Buster Vacca made it in record time from California in Frank's hot-rod. They made their names famous in hot-rod history since they invented the jet-propelled hot-rod and won the National Hot-Rod Race. Major and Mrs. Robert Grilz were present. I think l told you that Betty Tassi and Robert Grilz married after Bob served his time in Korea. Now he's making it a career at Fort Riley. Betty and little Robert, Jr. are with with him to keep him happy. We had quite a few grads there that made their careers at K. U. Joyce ICoffeyl and Alan Morey were two of them. Alan is a Professional Football player. Joyce and he have a good start on a football team of their own. They are the proud parents of four husky boys. Anotner impor- tant person was Mary Kay Nonbello. She is the cheerleader instructor of the K. U. Pep Club. I suppose you noticed how nice the Pep Club sounded at the K. U. vs Oklahoma A 8t M game last week. Oh, and guess who is teaching history at K. U. Professor Ronnie Mangilel He always did have his heart in Mr. Layden's history class. Gloria Williams was there too. She's a great poet now. You remember that poem Don't Feel Bad that was published in the Raider. Well, it was picked as the Poem of the 20th Century. Jolene Merando and Roy Moriconi came too. Jolene is now the owner of Kress and Roy is the janitor. Jolene always did say that s'ie was going to be boss over Roy. We also had a great actress present, Billie Wente. M. G. M. offered her a screen test and I guess she really bowled them over. She's starring as the owner in the SmEtfw's Old Maid Home.' The part just fits her! Both the Richardson's came. Bob owns a gas station, because he is tired of always running out of gas. He thought the situation was in hand until he ran out of gas on the way to the reunion. Don is a barber. He's taken Prete's place. He has to keep late hours in order to cut the F. H. S. boys' hair so Mr. Layden won't have to excuse them during school hours. Jo Elene Deplue, who is the owner of the Puritan, surprised us by bringing ice cream. To remind us of school, we had a grade school principal present. Who? Shirley Flaker, of course. She teaches in Miss Cherblanc's place at F. H. S. Professor Don Morey and Professor Gary Terlip took time to come. They are famous for their Q-Bomb. They were always trying to blow the school to pieces, now they're trying to blow the world to pieces. The owner of the Lonely Hearts Short Folks Home was there. That's right, Gerald Saccane. He has quite a few tenants. The President's right hand man had enough time to come. Who else but Vince Rybnick. He got his practice when he was Mr. Layden's right hand man. After the reunion everyone went to Ginny's Chicken Place for a Chicken Dinner. Virginia Papish is the proud owner. Believe me, no one can serve chicken like Virginia's. l hear Ernie driving in so I guess l'd better close. Write soon. Love, Tonna
