C7 57 The 1957-58 highlights of the Froid Parent-Teacher Association were: JUNE - Mrs. Howard Jacobsen, our president: and Mrs. Irwing Hoye, state second vice president attended a workshop in Missoula. SEPTEMBER - we held our annual Teachers' Reception with 125 in attendance. Our theme was Mon- tana, Under the able leadership of Jean Gangstad, Membership Chairman, and Ann Fahn, Room Mother Chairman, we acquired 10M membership for the first time, totaling 214 members. We started our health program for the year under the direction of Mrs. Marvin Sundheim, Health Chairman. Ex- aminations were given to all First graders and shots and booster shots were given to every student in school who needed or wanted them. OCTOBER - The P.T,A, sent a full delegation of 11 members to the District Convention in Glasgow, Mrs. Clara Munger, state president, presented the Froid P,T.A. with a superior rating. We succeeded in again starting and sponsoring Boy Scouts in Froid, with Howard Jacobsen as Institutional Representa- tive. The Room Mothers helped the teachers with a halloween party for the grade children. NOVEMBER - We served lunch at the school carnival to raise money for ouryearly budget. Mrs. Burton Ostby is Lunch Chairman, JANUARY - A three-act comedy, No Bride for the Groom, was presented under the direction of Leota Hoyq. The cast was: Marian Jacobsen, Charles MacKenzie, Kathryn Waters, Norma Bennewitt, Leo Trinlett, Gwen LaMar, James Moore, Winnifred Bertelsen, Sig Ostby, Douglas Sorenson, Minnie Quam- men. and Doris Triplet. The proceeds were used to pay for our yearly health program. Chickens were donated to the Hot Lunch by Norman Sundvold and August Eschenbacker Sr. , and under the direction of our Canning Chairman, Barbara Young, they were prepared for freezing. FEBRUARY - The P,T,A, had their Founders' Day program under the direction of Alma Anderson, Founders' Day Chairman, and our District president, Mrs, Clifford Thomsen, visited us. MARCH - For the first time the Froid P,T.A, is sending 525 to the scholarship fund, entitling us to give one of our members a-life membership. The P,T,A. voted to give Elizabeth Bergh this honor. Election of vice president and secretary for the next year was held. Minnie Quammen will be vice president and Lorraine Ostby will serve as secretary. APRIL - The new vice president and secretary for the next year were installed, MAY - The P,T,A, conducted a clinic for the mothers of five year old children and sponsored a visiting day for the children at school. Mrs. Irwing Hoye was our Program Chairman for the year. We feel we have had a very successful year under the direction of Marian Jacobsen, president: William Luft, vice presidentg June Sorenson, secretaryg and Gladys Krohmer, treasurer.
