On April 23. 1954. the Froid Senior Band along with their director, Mr. G.N. Anderson, joumeyed to Plentywood for a band day. The bands each .played a few niu'nbers which were judged by the adjudi- cator. Mr. LlefCl1ristians0n. from Concordia College, followed by ensembles, solos, and mass band rehearsal which was also under Mr. Christianson's wise direction. The mass band, which was composed of all the bands attending. was a wonderful experience for all of the band students. The girls' choms composed of 23 members joined mixed choruses and girls'choruses from six other schools at Medicine Lake for a vocal music day on April 30, 1954. After the adjudicator, Mr. Strohm, from Minot State Teachers' College. Minot. North Dakota, listened to the singing of each group, the mass chorus was formed and practiced under Mr. Strohm 's very able guidance. There was also a mass girls' chorus. A program wa given by the two mass choruses, soloists, and the separate groups that evening. The band and many Froid people were found in Williston, North Dakota, on May 15, for the annual Band Day. As usual. the 41 bands all marched in the big parade of which Froid was chosen to march in the fifth place. The parade was followed by the concerts which were played on the four stands in Play Park by the separate bands. in the evening the guest band, Moorhead High School Band, gave a concert in Har- mon Park for everyone. Loretta Haugan was Froid's wonderful hostess during the day. f 'gf A I - '. ies : -Ein. 9, ' at-f'-'-wt: ' fix x., C I X . A is 3 Q W 3 Xia. : Kg hz-' gl ..
