Un d6?dft0t ' ' The class resumed, January 1. 1953, with Fay Crusch as instructor after having been without an instructor for four months. The class resumed with sixteen students including: Irving Hoye, Floyd Mar- tini. Vern Guenther, Warren Christoffersen, Harold Christoffersen, Melvin Peterson, Harry Sorensen, John Wivholm, George Waters, Alvin Erdahl, Hubert Thorne, Fred Granbois, Clarence Bakken, Einas Johmon, Menon Purvis, and Douglas Sorensen. Since January 1, 1954, we have added two new mem- bers into the class: they are Peder Siggaard and Christian Rasmussen. During this time only six class members have completed their trainingg they are as follows: Fred Granbois, Alvin Erdahl, Hubert Thorne Einar Johnson, Merton Purvis and Douglas Sorensen. During the past sixteen months we have had classes, which included among other things, credit qincluding PCA and Fl-IAQ, several on selection and seed varieties, wheat, beevil control, moisture content, protein content, storage and rust, development of hybrid corn, machine care and operation, range management, and the many phases of conservation farm ing. Field trips included a visit to the Gordon Lund ranch, Wolf Point, and the Fay Crusch ranch, Bain- ville, Soil Conservation Day at the Moen farm, the Sidney Locker Plant, Sidney Sales Ring, a purebred cattle dispersion sale, and we heard two of the outstanding speakers of the nation, Tom Kelly and T- Bone McDonald. Both in March, 1953 and 1954, a week of shop work was held at the Vo-Ag Shop here in Froid. Special repair and overhaul jobs were done for each class member. A special project in 1954 was the building of a calf table. During these sixteen months more than twenty outside teachers and instructors have met with this farm training class. Attendance for this class has been very good, due to the factors of having had an excellent instructor and several interesting educational movies and lectures.
