The Froid Chapter of Future Farmers of America elected the following boys to be their leaders for the 1953-1954 school term: Harlow Strandlund, Presidentg Romain Ryder, Vice Presidentg Dale Eschen- bacher, Secretary: Bob Urdahl, Treasurerg Roger Grovom, Reporterg Alton Nelsen, Sentinel. There were six meeting held during the year. At these meetings F.F.A. business matters were discussed. Lunch and recreation usually followed. March 26 and 27 were the dates for the Big Muddy District convention which was held in Baker. The following boys were Froid's representatives at the Baker meet: Harlow Strandlund, Don Barrington, Alton Nelson and Archie Johnson. While at Baker they competed against other Big Muddy district schools in the following events: livestock judging, grain identification and judging, tool identification, and written tests in parliamentary procedure, F .F .A. , farm mechanics and general agriculture. Bozeman is the site of the annual state convention of Future Farmers of America. This year the convention was held from April 'I to April 10. The following boys were in attendance from Froid: Far- rell Wulf, Romain Ryder, Harlow Strandlund, Roger Bertelsen and Archie Johnson. Roger and Archie were delegates to the meetings of the Montana Association of F .F.A. . while Fritz. Romain, and Har- low were the competitive team. To finance their activities this year the boys held a raffle the night of the senior play. They gave away a seventeen pound Easter ham, two geese, and a turkeyg they also sponsored the donkey basketball game in which Bob Urdahl's 'Bobcats' played Dale Eschenbacher's Airdales while riding donkeys.

The officers were as follows: Marlene Coats, President: Ethel Johnson, Vice President, Marjorie Anderson, Secretaryp Margaret Christoffersen, Treasurerg Margaret Ryder, Reporterg Dee Ann Ryder, Parliamentariang Verona Boger, Historiang and Joyce Sundheirri, Song header, Our chapter mothers were Mrs. Ewald Christoffersen and Mrs. Martin Anderson. The first and third Wednesday each month were set aside as meeting dates, The chapter went to Glasgow to the district 8 convention. Marjorie Anderson was elected District 8 President and State Secretary. She was installed in this latter office at the state convention which convened in Missoula March 27, 28, and 29. Other delegates to this meet were Margaret Christoffersen, Ethel Johnson, Delores Luft, and Verona Boger who were accompanied by Mrs. Albert Anderson, Fl-lA Advi5Ol', We had a Mothers' Tea on December 16, 1953. During Christmas vacation the organization had a formal ballg our theme was Winter Wonder Land and Les Cooper's orchestra provided the music. The various money making methods used by the group were selling hot dogs and pop during football games and a bake sale.
