Today, however, a woman is free to choose between the mini, midi, and maxi according to her own taste and individuality. Surpassing the midi and maxi, the pant suit has been a large asset to every girl's wardrobe this year. Footwear has also taken a sharp change. The chunky, ornate oxfords are worn with pant suits, and no midi or maxi or even mini is complete without a pair of boots. Lighter weight patent shoes are kept for everyday wear. The wet look is the thing. Ponchos, capes, and wet leather coats are popular for school wear. Leather, suede, and varied bright colors are noted in men 's '71 fashions as well as the shiny, wet look in shoes. But, the ever popular cowboy or western wear still holds approval among the young men of FHS .
