Ohe 1958 Pan orant a Friendship Central School Friendship, New York Volume VI The New Central School 2 Foreword In looking to the future, we must often look back into the past. Some of us remember the old Acad- emy. As we recall memories of days gone by, inevitably we trace the steps in our growth. We pro- gress from sandboxes to dolls to physics. Upon our graduation, the school has, we trust, produced mature young citizens. The citizens of tomorrow have an important obligation to their children and their school. They owe it their understanding and their support. For only through the help of all, can the school fulfill its purpose. 3 Dedication We, the Staff of the 1958 Panorama, dedicate this issue to Robert R. Burns. For years he has served the Friendship Central School as an instructor in mathematics. In advising, tutoring and assisting math stu- dents he has pointed the way to many a technical career. The Class of '58 es- pecially appreciates Mr. Burns' assistance. Always a puller but never a pusher, he has been content to assume a backstage role in class affairs, offering advice and guidance whenever necessary. The Class of '58 is grateful for his help and friendship. Mr. Robert R. Burns 4 ministra tion Principal School Board Superintendent Mr. ROBERT E. FT A clubs in high school have as their major purpose the exploration of the nature of teaching, its opportunities and responsibilities. Teachers are the builders of civilization. Next to parents who pass on the unending stream of life comes the teacher who should preserve, enrich, and transmit the ideals and purposes of our culture. The Friendship Chapter is known as the Ethel M. Doud FT A Club in honor of Miss Doud who has served faithfully in our school for the past 36 years and who has the respect and goodwill of all who have studied under her guidance. 49 51 Acknowledgements We would like to thank the following people for making this Yearbook possible.
