Following the ground- breaking last year, the work has steadily progressed un- til it is now nearing completion. Music, art, and drama students especially will appreciate this addition to our campus. , The-Senior class of 1964 presented the school with the flag pole and flag which decorate our campus. The mar- ble base reads Presented by the Class of l964 . On A floor ofthe main building is another student presen- tation,only this one was not the work ot only one class. The Student Lounge is a gift to the student body from the student body. 5

To You We Dedicate DR. ROBERT R. MEYERS R The Meyers family fleft to rightl: Mrs. Billie Meyers, Karen Kay, 15, Devon Dee, 5, Robin Rex, l2, and Dr.-Robert Meyers. ln a time when everyone seems to be preoccupied with himself and his own problems, it is refreshing to find someone who has a vital interest in everyone and everything around him. Dr. Robert R. Meyers is iust such a person. As an English professor at Friends, he passes on his enthusiasm to his students. Dr. Meyers' rather illustrious experiences include study at Oxford University, editing the Daily Free-Lance, a small Oklahoma newspaper, and public speaking. He received his BA. degree in l948 from Abilene Christian College, graduating summa cum laude. He received his M.A. from the University ot Oklahoma in l950, and his Ph.D. from Washington University in l957. He has been on the faculty at Friends University since 1960. Dr. Meyers seems to have an interest in his students. Because he cares about us, we dedicate the l965 Talisman to Dr. Robert R. Meyers. . TALISMAN ' 65 4
