Davis Administration Building Long a landmark of Wichita, Davis Ad- ministration building was originally the main building of Garfield University. When the college became Friends University, the big, beautiful building was named Da- vis Administration in honor of James and Anna Davis who purchased the property and presented it to the Kansas Yearly Meeting of Friends.

This will be the Fine Arts Building of Friends University - the future quarters of the music, art, speech, and drama de- partments. According to the architects, the build- ing will be in the shape of an H, with the music department occupying two of the legs , the art, speech, and drama departments another, and the fourth leg will consist of a reception room, a library, and a listening room. In the center of the H will be a 450-seat auditorium for concerts, re- citals, and dramatic productions. PAUL R. A Sumpter Hall Dedicated in 1950, Sumpter Hall houses the cafeteria, bookstore, re- ception and recreation rooms, and the Home Economics and Art departments. lt was named in honor of Mr. and Mrs. F.
