CAREY A. B., Friends University, 1914 Assistant in Biblical Department lt is difficult for us to realize that M1'. Carey is a professor at all, he enters so easily and so enthusiastically into the stu- dent activities, and when it comes to good suggestions for stunts, he is always there with the goods. One subject which never fails to arouse his interest is debating. Next, perhaps, is his love for athletics, altho he didn't attend the Turkey Day game last year. As a teacher he is a decided success. His classes are large in number and invariably interesting. He has a very adroitly convincing and skillful way of converting one to his own opinion on a given niaiter. A genius in the field of is awe ww Qsf class discussions, he challenges you not get interested in. the subject. strikingly f na- R. L. MARKLEY A. B., College of Emporia, 1914 ' Athletic Coach 1 Red is our athletic man and one of the busiest people around F. U. There are three things peculiarly his own and noticeable about him. The first is his hair, the sec- ond his walk, and the third his ability to detect and classify good athletic material. We have been so interested in watch- ing the results from the latter that we haven't thought to in- quire about his hobbies, but we feel safe in making the state- ment that he does have them for he has all the other ear- marks of a great man. He has helped us enjoy one of the most supremely satisfactory years in athletic lines that F. U. has ever known, and the nine rahs for the team have invariably been followed just as enthusiastically and sincerely by nine rahs for coach. She has not been with us long enough for us to get very well acquainted with her, but the early impressions are very favor- able. Yve know for sure that she is hard to beat as an accom- panist, for she has accompanied some of the best artists who have ever visited Wichita. Her talent as a musician is recog- nized all over the state, and We are fortunate in having her to teach us how to rattle the ivories.
