His real genius is best shown in the classroom where he makes the most uninteresting essay reveal a World of thought. Thru his guiding, insiffht the K. O modern drama pulsates with life, but dear to his heart above all eise are the poems of Tennyson and Browning. He is, however, not only concerned with the beautiful in literature but is keenly interested in student life as Well. TRUEBLOOD B. S. fEll.I'1h3I11J Vice-President, Registrar, Professor of History Professor Trueblood says that there is only one thing in this world that he likes better than boys, and that is girls. Per- haps that is the reason that they all like him so Well. He firmly believes that the most efficient way to obtain knowledge is by discussion, but he has a very effective Way of stopping an argu- ment When it has gone far enough. His training as a legisla- tor and business man has made him a valuable man for the place which he fills as a teacher and officer of the University. y I T31 ,, . ' ' '- . ' s'!,... . lv X I B. W. TRUESDELL A. B. 4FriendsJ, CGraduate Student University of'ChicagoJ Professor of Chemistry and Erlzccation Prof. always gives out the impression ot being a tre- mendously busy man in a tremendous hurry, and the more you get acquainted with him, the stronger this impression grows. Perhaps it is because he is interested in everything and every- body, and just as he gets really interested in something and somebodyC?J he switches off to something and somebodyC?J else. The only object upon which he lavishes a deep and abiding affection is the band. He changes with amazing rapidity from kodaks and canoes to lyceum corses and eugenics, meanwhile keeping track of the laboratory, bookstore, various special classes for city teachers and divers other incidentals too numer- ous to mention. In no small sense he forms a distinctive and unique part of F. U., and every old student Who comes back to visit feels his trip incomplete without a chat over old times with Prof Page 11 . 1 4 f . f I .W Ajnx L . 1 ,tial 'W Q, Il S? vi: L 'Z ' 3l,l'a'f ' Q -3, ' gf,,7f,g.m5 mf' wv'U,f 2f fffffw ,ff X X fig ,yy J 4 .2 Plz sg ,, , ,iff .faffba nf , , fillfrsaf'
