We don't have enough ads to cover our costlu This article isn,t due today-is itin These were familiar cries coming from the members of the Record Book Stalsf this year as they Worked feverishly to put a lot of Words and pictures and ideas together to make the 1957 Record Book. VVork began last year with the choosing of the staff. Early this fall, the pre- liminaries were taken care of - the theme was chosen, the publisher and photographer were picked out, the dedication and tributes were decided on, and the committees appointed. Next came the picture-taking, much to the disturbance of the teachers, whose classes were constantly being interrupted. Then came the long weeks of struggling to get advertisements and to formulate the dummy. Even during the Christmas vacation, the staff met to finish the senior write-ups. At time We some- times wondered if We would ever see the book in print, let alone get it done in time for graduation, said one staff member. But the pictures were taken, thanks to Anne Fry and her photography staijfg the articles were somehow written by Barbara Thomson's literary committee, proof- read by Teacher Barbara, and typed up by valiant volunteers Whom Editor-in-Chief, Sue Kahn, appointed. At last Alan and George succeeded in convincing Master Alex that the book would be paid for, and Charlie finally got his artwork done! And so the 1957 Record suddenly became a reality. VVe hope that you will enjoy our presentation of life at Select, says the staff. And slave-driver Sue would like to sincerely thank every member of the staff and all the faculty who have Worked so hard and patiently to make this Record Book possiblef, Here it isl Seve-nty'seve11
