CPage 59j This morning, there was not one Senior who wasnat a little expectant -to every Senior, today will always he remembered as a much-coveted milestone in his life. It was a summation of twelve years of work, tension, responsibility and pleasure-a day for which the class had prepared even before they were aware that there was such an award as graduation. At about ten oiclock, the relatives, friends, and fellow students of the gradu- ating class began to assemble in the Race Street Meeting House. An atmosphere of quiet expectation blended pleasantly with the serene beauty of the simple hall. The distinguished faculty seated themselves on the facing benches to the right, and the left door was opened for the entrance of the graduating class, whose members filed in two by two. Both the girls and the young men carried themselves with a sense of well-earned pride, the young women, who wore appropriate white dresses and carried wine-red roses, pre- sented a pleasant picture alongside of their male classmates dressed in conservative dark suits. ,Following the reading of the Bible, greetings were extended by Master Larry. Distinguished members of the graduating class addressed their classmates and friends present. Finally, after what seemed an interminable wait, Master Larry presented the diplomas with a warm handshake and word of congratulations. The main ad- dress to the class was delivered by a very interesting and informative speaker. A reception on the lawn followed the termination of Commencement Exercises, and congratulations were exchanged in a friendly atmosphere. The years spent at Friends' Select will he well, and, we hope, pleasantly re- membered by the graduating class of 1957. Today marked the end of an exciting period of their lives, but they a1'e looking forward to new adventures and to the opening of new horizons of opportunity, responsibility, accomplishment and happi- ness.
