His helpful hints on the game, along with his spirit, made him one of the mainstays of the team. John is at his best, however, on the tennis court, where his streamlined, ever-present haircut gives him a big advantage over all comers. Not a genius, John still manages to haul down good marks and keep himself up to scratch.
