Having finally reached the Eighth Grade we thought we were on the top of the L dder. This year we had two teachers, Mr. Hylton and Mr. Gardner. During this year we put on the skit called nThe Naughty Lady of Shady Lane , which was presented at different functions throughout the year. At last we reached high school. The Seniors soon 'broke us in with initiation which will long be remembered. We were a little shy at first but soon learned the ropesn. This year the following joined our classg Lester Dayton, Garlie King, Carol Ann Judge, Edith Rich and Joan Hass, but were sorry to lose Joyce Tuck, Janice Gardner, and Peggy Buchanan. During our Sophomore year of high school we started our traditional carnival which has been contiuned thoughout the year. After a year we were in the swing of things, but were still considered under-class-men . This year we added three new students and lost three. In our Junior year we were finally considered Nuppep-class-mann, Our big event this year was the Junior-Senior Prom which will always remain a pleasant memory. At last our long awaited climb to be Seniors had arrlved. Vernon Wood finally decided to come back for his Senior year to graduate with us. Out of the 12 Seniors, ll of us started the first grade together. This year we initiated both the freshmen and the eighth grade. We also gave our last Carnival. These will always be remembered as a big part of our high school years. Throughout the year many changes in school activities took place. Our stay in Friday Harbor High School is now coming to an end. All we will have are many memories of our school days. n ll.-..-gg 3-'i
