In our scramble to prepare ourselves to make a living let us not forget the life that we have to 11ve.A busi- nessman without principles is intol- erable, a scientist without feeling for mankind is dangerous anda.polit1- clan without the means to understand our neighbors is chaos. Science is very important, so is mathematics, but the social sciences, the languages, music and art cannot be left out. The faculty and school board at Friday Harbor High School are aware of this fact and are ever striving to give you the best. Within the pages of this book are recorded and preserved the records of activities of Frida Harbor High School for the year 1955-59. These memories have been captured in print and in picture, and as presented here in this book, they constitute a fit- ting tribute to those students who have been willing to make the neces- sary efforts and sacrifices in order that our student body organization might become stronger and more worth- while. During the past year, stu- dents and teachers have shared many problems, have accepted difficult responsibilities, and have also en- joyed good times together. As your Principal, I wish to express my ap- preciation to all of you who have contributed to the successful comp- letion of the many activities and events that have made this school year a pleasant one.
