S E N I O R C L A S 3 T R I P The Senior Class of l9S3 started off on the long journey to Lake Wilderness for their senior trip May 8 at 6:00 Ao M: Efter loading all our suitcases, slits and what have you in the bus we get off to a pretty smooth start, Then someone mentioned forget- ting his plate, cup, and silverwares Suddenly it dawned on the majority of the class that they too had forgotten theirs. It turned out that we had to eat in shifts, washing all utensils about three times during a meals A ' The ferry ride to Anacortes seemed quite short as there were card games and card tricks occupying the time of everyone. Our able bus driver got us to Lake Wilderness about noon. Everyone was starved by this time, so we set out the picnic lunch we had prepared at homes The young fryers we thought we had fried turned out to be ancient roosters, so we proceeded to chew each bite 56 times: ' After lunch we looked over the grounds of the resort and found about every kind of entertainment possible, Tennis, canoe- ing, water boats and roller skating occupied the rest of the after- YIOOIIQ That evening, since the weather was bad, we all went to Rent- on and had our dinner, After dinner we divided into groups and some of us went to Rollerland, some to the show, and the others went bowling. The skating rink turned out to be something out of this world. Joyce and Rawleen thought they were going to be nout of this worldh when they fell down and showed evidences of bruises from their chin to their legs to prove it. We started back at 11:30 and everyone went to bed quite soon after arriving since we all had been up from such an early morning hour. Hr. Brubacher found his bed short-sheeted and Kennyis bed broke down, but other than spent swimming, boating and seeing the girls running back and that we had one peaceful night's sleep! The girfsnfixed breakfast the following morning and even ser- ved several of the boys in bed. Right after breakfast several gf the girls had a refreshing game of tennis in their pajamas until the other people around started getting up. The restof the day Was forth from the cabin changing from shorts to slacks between sun- shine and rain. Everyone got tired and returned to the cabins about I-100 Olclockn Since the girls had Hsetu their hair for dining and dan- cing that evening, the boys decided they must also have curls so the girls pincurled theirs too. it 6:00 ofclock we started getting ready to go to dinner when the boys decided their ties needed pressing and their hair still wasn't combed outa Curls really did things for them and soon-everyone was ready to goo

we dined dinner was of ed throughout ections. we in the luxurious dining room of the main lodge. Our turkey with all the trimmings. Organ music was play- the meal and a singing waiter sang two or three sel- enjoyed our dinner very much even Etta Mae, who thought her salad was made of dandelion greens! Next we went over to the large dance halle The girls simply loved the music when they heard it and then when they saw who was making it, there was no doubt as to whyi There were seven very young musicians who re- ally knew how to playc About half way through the dance they play- ed the Mexican Hat Dance which Terry and Leis as well as Bill and Barbara performed in really fine sytlew The last dance of the evening was dedicated tc the Class of YS3 from Friday Harbor and it was WHarbor Lighten which really ended the dance in a wonderful WaYc Everyone went back to the cabins and Jack started fryingcmgs so we could have an egg sandwich. we changed into old clothesand BOMB of the Wkidsu went frog hunting while the others just stayed in the cabinse Nearly everyone found his bed either short sheeted, minus sheets or full of cornflakesg Everyune finally got to sleep about 5:30 Ao Mc, just to get up about three hours later! Sunday morning the last day 'of our trip had arrived. It started off with a bang when the boys cooked breakfast! we think they'really learned something in the cooking classn because the breakfast was very edible and good tool After breakfast everyone gathered up his belongings and pack- ed his suitcase fer the homeward journey. when the cabins were partially straightened we went out and some pitched horse- shoes and others played golf. About noon we left Lake Wilderness for the last time--and went into Renton to see a shows At four we left Renton and started for home, we returned by way of Seattle with everyone sleeping most of the way' We stopped in Mount Vernon to eat our dinner and then continued on toward Anacortes. we finally get on the ferry and were beginning to dread the thought of going to school the next morning, when Mr. Brubacher announced that we didnlt have to come until noon. How understand- ing can our elders be? There were really many sleepy seniors on the ferry that night who were very glad to see the welcome lights of .FQ Hu appear around that last little corners
