12th Grade Now we were high and mighty SENIORS, as this was our last year in school, we left a few things to be remembered by, such as a partially paint- ed bus shed. Other things, such as the garbage can on top of the flag pole and the duck in the hot air pipe, were quickly ordered removed by an unsym- pathetic faculty. Also, Mr. Brubacher will long remember that the new build- ing is painted green, with our middle-of-the-night phone call informing him of it. we started the year off right by initiating the Freshmen in the form of a hayride in their honor. we took them down to the shipyard, where we roast- ed wieners and then proceeded toinitiatethe newcomers to our school. It will be testified that they are now duly initiated into High School. On the night of the Halloween dance, we celebrated the beginning of basketball with a dinner in Jackson's basement. Three senior boys, Terry, Jim, and Jack, missed the dinner, having worked in the cannery till 10 0'clock that night. Our Senior Play, The Inner Willy, was the best, of course. Our long nights of practice gave man opportunities for fun and pranks, and then when we started making a stage two days before the play and didn't know our parts yet, we began to wonder if there would be a play. But we came through, and were acting like professionals by the last night, except that Inner Willy got awfully tired of cucumbers. Then too, one player broke her teeth the night before the play, but the dentist came through. we gave a matinee and two night performances. The first night Mrs. Ringler invited us to her house for refreshments after the play,and the second night our mothers all got together and gave us a turkey dinner at Jackson's. On January 22, the Freshmen Home Economics class gave us a Senior Break? fast, titled the Senior Future. The decorations and menu were very futuris- tic, with a very good meal served. On February 10, Lois and her family moved into a new house, so we warmed it up for her the next night. The girls made cookies and candy and we all had a very good time. On the week-e d of May ll, we took our Senior Trip. You can read about it elsewhere in the annual, but we all had a very good time. Then came May 28, the eventful day of graduation from High School. we marched up the aisle in the school gym asium and received our diplomas with certain misgivings about leaving school. we had worked hard thru the twelve long years, but we had played hard too, as these pages will illustrate. Now we will go our spearate ways, some to the armed services, some to college, and some to go directly a way. But we can always look happily back on ou:'edr aol days.
