6th Grade we went to school down at the other end of the hall with the big kids this year, minus Carlyn Culver, Norma Meyer, Jackie Nelson,Donald Daily, and Jim Witthouer. However, we made up for all of them by acquiring Kenneth Ramage on January 8, from Saticoy, California. - Mrs. .Felton made this a year to remember, with our futile stab at har- monica playing and our overwhelming record of caterpillar bands gathered in the annual contest. Bill Erickson was in a bad way this year, never getting out for recess because of punishments for unknown deeds, and getting kicked out of the lunchroom for calling Mrs. Carter's food Wslumgulliunen. Also we worked our heads off the first half of the year in order to lay off com- pletely at Chris mas and construct the most beautiful mosiac window ever seen on the islandg, 7th Grade . Hrs. Sandwith greeted our happy faces this year as we became privileged members of the Junior High School. we had left James Mainella behind, but we had Barbara Thompson and Clarence Youngberg thruse on us for good measure. Our studies weren't much to remember, e cept that Nancy thought hygiene was a disease when she studied it in health class. The boys started their first basketball training under up and coming Coach Hannah. Never-to-beeforgotten was Barbara Thompson's crush on Roger Loring! ' 8th Grade Mrs. Coghlan was our home room teacher this year.Ipis and Barbara start- ed on their cheerleading careers, and several girls were floating in the clouds - they had invitations for the Junior Prom. Then cams that eventful day when three of our class played hooky with the ninth grade and were con- fined to school thereafter. Our biggest project this year was putting out an Easter school paper. 9th Grade we began this year as the big ninth graders in Junior High under Mr. De- Bruler, but we quickly were taken down a few notches when we were moved into High School as Freshmen in October. The rest of the school gave us a picnic one day as initiation. Of course, we won the treasure hunt because we knew what a conifer was. Richard O'Donnell joined us this year and was our class president. Then too, we gave our first dance - The Freshmen Frolic. 10th Grade Our main attraction this year was the great Sophomore Hard Time Dance. The gym was decorated gaily with bales of hay, cornstalks, and wagon wheels. Before we finished,Mrs. Ringler's car was much the worse for wear and alot of school work left undone. However, when it was over, a big success had been registered and we came out with more money than the Seniors. 11th Grade This year our class put out the Harbor Light under the joint editor- ship of Lois and Terryw It was the best ever, of course. During the year we held a Junior Class Dinner at Sutterman's which was our first such get- together. 'we liked it vesy'much. Then too, we started the equipment for the new gym this year, giving a fooddsale and turning the profits over for' 'this worth cause.
