AND THE MUMPS' On November 9th and 10th, the Senior Class of 1951 presented their annual class play entitled, 'The Mummy and the Mumps.' Laidlaw, the principal of Fenella, an exclusive girl's school, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Sir Hector Fish, a renowned English grghgglggigt who is to become a member of the faculty, Sir Hector is bringing with him the recently discovered mummy of King Tut's Queen. Before Sir Hector arrives, Francis Briscoe, an old school friend of Bill Laidlaw shows up, His intention is to visit with Bill, but while he is at Fenella he falls in love with Maude Mullen, a student, and in order to be able to stay, decides to impersonate Sir Hector Fish. The mu my case arrives, and is opened by Anna Hampton, much to her surprise and dig- may the mummy comes to life. The mummy turns out to be Sir Hector Fish, who has expressed himself inside the mummy case to escape being quarantined in New York for a case of the mumps. Anna helps Sir Hector to escape dis- covery, as the sheriff is on the scene in quest of Sir Hector for breaking quarantine,

In the final act, with the house surrounded by deputies with orders to let no one pass except Miss Laidlaw, and the sheriff carrying on a systematic search of the house, Sir Hector decides to dress as a wom n and be able to escape. He he can leave the sher- impersonate Miss Laidlaw. By this ruse he hopes to orders the car to be brought to the door, but before iff enters. The sheriff is looking for Sir Hector. Francis Briscoe, who plan for escape, en- has been impersonating Sir Hector, with the same ters dressed as Miss Laidlaw. The escape of both Briscoe and the Sir Hec- tor is foiled by the entrance of Hes Laidlaw. As the play closes, Fran- cis Briscoe and laude Mullen, Bill Laidlaw and Duloie Du ble. and Si? HSC' tor and Anna Hampton announce their engagements. One of the most comical characters in the play was Racker, fJames Slamonl who is general handy man. He always seems to be able to get things mixed up. 1951 would like to extend their thanks to the P90P10 Of their whole-hearted support. We hope that our class play pleasure as it did us.
